In the semifinals, Andreeva defeated American Hayley Baptiste, ranked 32nd in the world, in straight sets 6:4, 7:6 (10:8). The match lasted 1 hour and 36 minutes.

In the final, the 19-year-old Russian will face the winner of the second semifinal between Ukraine’s Marta Kostyuk and Austria’s Anastasia Potapova.

This marks Andreeva’s first final appearance in Madrid, after being eliminated in the quarterfinals in the previous two years. According to Opta, she is the first tennis player in history to reach at least three WTA 1000 finals before turning 19. She also made it to the championship match in Indian Wells and Dubai in 2025, winning both tournaments.

Andreeva, currently ranked eighth in the world and the highest-ranked Russian, has five WTA singles titles to her name.

The Madrid tournament, with a prize fund of €8.23 million, will conclude on May 2. It is a WTA 1000 event, second only in prestige to Grand Slams and the WTA Finals.
