Former Formula 1 driver Jolyon Palmer has shared his thoughts on the potential intra-team battle at Ferrari between Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc.
“Ferrari? There’s a bit of ego there too, everyone has ego. You can’t accept being second; you have to think, ‘I’m the best, this is my title.’ The duo of Leclerc and Hamilton… You have a guy who has won seven titles, and you have a generational talent who hasn’t won one yet. I don’t think there’s any way Fred [Vasseur] could control it if they are equal on pace and have the best car,” Palmer told RacingNews365.
This season, Ferrari has assembled one of the most star-studded driver lineups in recent F1 history, pairing the sport’s most successful driver with one of its brightest rising stars. Palmer, a former Renault driver and current pundit, suggests that the team principal may face an impossible task if both drivers are competing for the championship.
