Guangdong head coach Du Feng expressed no regret following his team’s 73-88 loss to Beijing Shougang in the CBA quarterfinals on May 12, which sealed a 1-2 series defeat and ended their season.
When asked if he felt disappointed about the early elimination, Du Feng responded: “I don’t see any reason for regret. Whether we achieve results or not each season, there’s always something to gain. If every club felt regret for not winning a championship, then they’d all be in a state of perpetual disappointment.”
“The Guangdong Southern Tigers have won 11 championships and multiple national gold medals. If many teams have never won a title over so many seasons, should they all be living in regret? Victory brings joy, and defeat gives us a chance to examine ourselves, identify weaknesses, and improve. That’s the beauty of competitive sports. There is nothing to regret.”
