Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has questioned where Chelsea star Cole Palmer would fit into the current Red Devils squad, arguing that he would not have the same impact as Bruno Fernandes.
Recent reports have linked Manchester United with a summer move for the England international, but Palmer has expressed his happiness at Chelsea and has no intention of leaving. Despite this, Scholes believes the 22-year-old would struggle to adapt to United’s current setup with Fernandes occupying a similar role at Old Trafford.

“I don’t see where he would play for United, that’s the problem,” Scholes told talkSPORT. “I see him in a similar position to Bruno. Look, he won’t have the same effect that Bruno has had in this team.”
“Could you play him on the right, cutting in on his left foot? Yes, he’s a fantastic footballer. Again, he has gone quiet, but everyone at Chelsea has gone quiet. I’m not entirely sure what’s happening at that club.”
The United legend added: “As long as you have many good players in your team, why not? He can win games on his day.”

Meanwhile, Scholes believes United need to strengthen their midfield with two new signings this summer, and has identified Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson as a primary target.
“I think last summer was decent enough. They sorted out the attack, and Benjamin Šeško looks good too. Well, he’s had another injury, so they might need another striker,” Scholes concluded.
