One of the most anticipated days of the offseason is almost here. The NFL will unveil its 2026 regular-season schedule on Thursday, May 14, at 6 p.m. Mexico City time, revealing the dates and kickoff times for every game.
Most of the San Francisco 49ers’ opponents for 2026 were determined through the league’s rotation formula. In addition to facing their NFC West divisional rivals twice, the 49ers will also play all four teams from the NFC East and AFC West this season.
The remaining three games on San Francisco’s schedule were set based on their third-place finish in the NFC West in 2025. Those position-based matchups include contests against other third-place teams from the NFC North, AFC East, and NFC South.
One game is already locked in: San Francisco’s season opener, which will also be an international showcase. The 49ers will take on the Los Angeles Rams in the first NFL game ever held in Melbourne, Australia. That Week 1 matchup is scheduled for Thursday, September 10, at 5:35 p.m. Mexico City time, to be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Due to the 17-hour time difference, the game will kick off in Melbourne on Friday at 10:35 a.m. local time, but will air as a Thursday night broadcast across the Americas.
The 49ers’ home opponents for the 2026 season include the Arizona Cardinals, Los Angeles Rams, Seattle Seahawks, Denver Broncos, Las Vegas Raiders, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Commanders, Miami Dolphins, and Minnesota Vikings.
San Francisco’s road schedule features matchups against the Arizona Cardinals, Los Angeles Rams, Seattle Seahawks, Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers, New York Giants, and Atlanta Falcons.
