Mischa Bredewold took the win in Stage 5 of the 2026 Vuelta a España Femenina, a route from León to Astorga, while Lotte Kopecky continues to lead the overall standings as the Spanish tour moves into its most decisive phase.
The Dutch rider from Team SD Worx-Protime crossed the line first in a tight sprint after her teammate Kopecky chose to let her take the spotlight. The results of Stage 5 did not bring major shifts to the general classification.
Lotte Kopecky holds the top spot, extending her advantage over Franziska Koch to +0:12 and over Cédrine Kerbaol to +0:18, who rounds out the provisional podium. Ferrand-Prévot, who entered as a favorite for the red jersey, fell out of the top 10 and now sits 11th, trailing by +0:32.
Among Spanish cyclists, Paula Blasi remains the best placed in the rankings. The UAE Team ADQ rider closes the top 10, also at +0:32 behind Kopecky. Fellow Spaniards Mavi García and Usoa Ostolaza are tied on the same time, sitting 13th and 15th respectively.
